 Flying

Short final on Solo Day at SJC

I learned to fly in 1996. That's probably the main reason for the existance of this website. I made a post to rec.aviation.student after each lesson. They are reproduced here, slightly edited to make Web pages out of them.

Sundowner and Marina

Current plane is a 1975 Beech Sundowner. It's big, comfortable, and slow. That's OK, Marina and I aren't in a hurry.

Download Corwin Nichols' FAA Written Test preparation software for DOS

Download my Linux port of Corwin's software

Download my Linux ATIS-DRILL software. This software can give you practice in the burning question: If ATIS says wind is 250@9 and you're taking off or landing on runway three-zero, which side of your A/C is the wind coming from? Yeah, it's pretty stupid, but it's mine :-)
